000New Covenant Community Church *nc3, began as a typical Southern Baptist Ministry in the Tulsa suburb of Catoosa, Oklahoma. That is, until we discovered the needs of an ever growing group of teens and young adults who do not fit into the ministry of the average church regardless of its denomination. Now our ministry is geared almost exclusively to the this group of people.
We minister to youths from the following backgrounds
• 13-24 years of age
• Immature (very little difference between 24 year olds and high schoolers)
• Youths from extremely poor backgrounds
• Youths from dysfunctional homes (divorce, single parent, little supervision)
• Low education (mostly high school drop outs)
• No transportation
• Little or no parental support
• Prone to flight (restless, will leave rather than face their problems)
• Mental difficulties (many diagnosed with ADHD and or bi-polar)
• Have lived with many different families
• At risk for the following:
• School drop-out
• Sexual addition
• Alcohol addition
• Drug addiction
• Co-dependency (leading to verbal and physical abuse)
000The average time period that individuals stay committed to the NC3 ministry program is two years, Those we help the most later go on to a better life-style and leave the area. They do, however, maintain contact with us and continue in their Christian faith. We do not have to seek them out, rather, they seek us out. There is intense loyalty and gratitude on the part of those who have received help.
000We have had up to 13 youth living in our home at one time. The longest any one person has stayed with us is two years.
000The ministry is currently funded by two small churches, two couples, two Sunday School classes and one individual. An offering which averages around $50.00 per week is taken on Sundays from those who attend.
000We have had some amazing successes through this ministry and look forward to more in years to come. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
How Do We Minister?
We are Christian Conservative, Evangelical, Biblically Based
We teach the Three R's
1) Right Relationship With God: Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
2) Right Relationship With Others: Treat others the way you would have them treat you. Learn to live selflessly. We call it living backwards.
3) Right Relationship With Self: We teach 'Christ Centered Self-esteem'. We recognize both our sinfulness and our potential in Christ. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
